When I planned my dive trip to Con Dao, Vietnam, I expected stunning coral reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But I saw something on Amadive Con Dao's dive list: **A Shipwreck Dive**. My heart leaped. This was more than a typical dive; this was adventure into the past.
I have to admit, I was a bit a little apprehensive. Wreck diving requires extra care. But the team at **Amadive Con Dao Dive Center** was fantastic. The PADI guides provided a very thorough briefing. We covered safety protocols, the story of the wreck, and what to expect below. Being in such a small group immediately put me at ease safe.
Going down was magical. First, it was just a dark shape in the blue, then suddenly it appeared. It is huge. The ship is now a bustling new home, covered in soft corals and swarming with fish. We saw giant groupers peeking from the cargo hold, and lionfish patrolling the cracks. The feeling of swimming next to this silent, ghostly vessel was indescribable—haunting, awe-inspiring, and humbling all at once. It truly is a piece of history on the seabed.
For any an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and looking for an adventure beyond the standard reef, I cannot urge you this **Con Dao wreck dive** highly enough. It was the unforgettable highlight read more of my Vietnam trip. A massive shout-out to the **Amadive Con Dao** team for their expertise and for making this incredible adventure possible and safe.
